Creating Respectful Spaces of Engagement in Our Communities, Classrooms, and Organizations

Reconciliation is a relational practice. Reconciliation is something we learn when we work across differences and find common solutions to unlearn the harmful consequences of a colonial mindset. Many of us do not benefit from a colonial mindset. The rigidity of social structures and hierarchies can limit our ability to advance social change. This workshop invites participants to experience what it’s like to find commonality despite differences. How do we find unity in challenging times? What are the ways that we can support Indigenous knowledge to lead change? How can we work towards meaningful and lasting reconciliation that leads to concrete solutions that benefit us all?
