Valeria Cortés is a leadership educator from Mexico, whose work is grounded in participatory and arts-based approaches to leadership and education. Her experience navigating multiple cultural contexts through her work as an Associate Faculty member at Royal Roads University and doctoral work at the University of Victoria informs a facilitation approach that nurtures belonging and elevates Nahua/Mexica teachings.

You will join a diverse group of Westshore students to build real connections through hands-on practice. In this session, you’ll conduct empathy interviews with your peers and use the co-razonar process to think together with the heart. Together, we will map out youth perspectives to create a tangible cartography of our community—a map that will directly shape future leadership initiatives in the Westshore and beyond.
